The opening for Mounira Stott will be held today at the Washington Art Associationhttp://www.washingtonartassociation.org/exhibitions/singularperspectiv/ located in Washington Depot,CT. Mounira will be exhibiting approximately 30 of her painterly cityscape interpretations. The Recption will be held today,Saturday, May 16, from 4 - 6pm.This exhibition runs from May 16 through June 13.
Also showing will  be painter Kevin Dunn and Sculptor Peter Kirkiles.

Mounira Stott

Biography: Mounira Gareeva Stott (Russia)
Mounira was born in Moscow, Russia in 1955. She completed a traditional art education with honors at the Moscow Art College in 1992, and a Master of Fine Arts degree at Western Connecticut State University, in the USA in 2004. In 2004 she received the Award of excellence in the “I Love Manhattan” competition, and the Ultramarine Blue Award and the Merit Award in Art, from Naugatuck Valley College, Waterbury, CT. Most recently she participated in the 1st Ecorea International Art Biennale, at, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, October, 2012.
Her work is represented in the collections of the International Beokam Museum, Wanju-gun,
Jeollabuk-do,South Korea, Office of the President, Republic of Tatarstan; The State Museum, and the Ministry of Culture, Republic of Tatarstan; National Museum of Bashkortostan, and in many private collections in the US and Russia. In Russia, her work was honored to be shown in the Artist's Guild Gallery, Kazan and the Ural Gallery, Ufa, and has been shown in many USA venues including the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, NYC; the Blue Mountain Gallery, Chelsea, NYC; Ward-Nasse Gallery, SoHo, NYC; and NoHo Gallery, NYC; the CARTUS Corporation in Danbury, CT; and the Artwell Gallery in Torrington, CT, juried by the curator of the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT.
She currently lives and works from her studio in Oxford, Connecticut, USA
