There is no such thing as a "still" life when it comes to flowers. By the time I got back to this tonight it was fully open with all the interior petals in full ruffle! In other words a completely different painting. Painted in the buds and leaves. Adjusted some values and edges and called it  a day. (or night:)).

Late Night Peony WIP

The Peony in the front yard has just bloomed. It was getting pummeled by the rains of Andrea so I decided to try and capture the delicate pink bloom last night before it became soaked in mud and mulch! I love it when your subject is wearing a great perfume:)! Hopefully I'll get to finish it some time tonight.

 We are heading up the the Whiting Mills open house in Winsted. Great artist's spaces and Artists:)! Artist friends of mine Don Wass and Gay Schempp have there studios up there.So we are looking forward to visiting. The open house is today and tomorrow from 11Am-5PM. Check it out!

I didn't get out much this weekend to paint but I wanted to catch the first flush of  spring dandelion seed globes.Reworked a small unfinished landscape from memory for a background. Back to lesson plans and grades:)!
